Our Positions

Science

Science is one of humanity's greatest achievements, and evidence should guide our shared decisions.

The Humanity Movement recognizes science as one of humanity's greatest achievements and one of our most reliable methods for understanding the natural world.

We value the scientific method because it encourages curiosity, evidence, critical thinking, transparency, and a willingness to revise conclusions when new knowledge emerges. These qualities reflect our commitment to seeking better understanding with humility.

We believe that evidence should play a central role in informing decisions that affect society, especially when addressing shared challenges such as health, environmental sustainability, emerging technologies, and global risks.

At the same time, we recognize that science is one part of human wisdom. While it helps us understand how the world works, it does not by itself determine what we ought to value or how we should resolve ethical questions. Those decisions require thoughtful dialogue, moral reflection, and respect for human dignity.

The Humanity Movement supports open scientific inquiry, international collaboration, and the responsible sharing of knowledge for the benefit of all people.

We encourage a culture in which questioning is welcomed, evidence is carefully evaluated, and changing one's mind in response to new information is seen as a strength rather than a weakness.

Our commitment is not to certainty.

It is to continually improving our understanding of the world, ourselves, and one another.
