Say "I was wrong" once, out loud
This week, when you notice you were wrong about something — anything, however small — say so plainly to the person involved. No hedging, no "well, technically". Just: I was wrong about that.
Out in the world
- 1Watch for the moment. It comes more often than you expect once you are looking.
- 2Resist the urge to soften it with an explanation of why you were reasonable to think it.
- 3Say the sentence. Then stop talking.
- 4Notice what happens — in the other person and in you.
